love or a friendship

Some people are looking at this friendship that is between Keyes and Huff and thinking that there is more then friendship feelings there.  I would agree and disagree with that.  I agree because I feel like there is a deeper bond then friendship but I don't think that is a homosexual thing that is going on between the two men.  They both show that they are or have had a relation with another women.  They seem to have a deeper bond then just a friendship just because of the way that they talk to each other.  They talk to each other in a way that most women would if they were friends but not men.  In modern times this would not be uncommon because guys have become much more friendly and let emotion into there lives for eachother but they still don't have a sexual view of eachother.  They love eachother but not in a homosexual way as most people would assume but rather in a way that some people would call a "bromance".  It is easy mistake it if you are looking only on the surface because most of the same qualities of a relationship are found in a bromance such as they hug eachother, call or text constantly, and sometimes can even sleep over at the other persons house.  They don't sleep in the same bed, hold hands, kiss, or do anything that would cross that line of having a homosexual relationship with the other partner.  Like in this book during a bromance sometimes you even try to be better then the other person but you will never let anyone or anything get in the way of your relationship.

I am writing about the different endings and how I think which one goes more along the lines of film noir.  The ending in the book has them getting on a ship together because they were going to end up being together but in the end jump of the ship and die together.  The movie ends it with her dying and Huff siting on the ground smoking a cig.  I think that the book ending was a lot more in line with film nior.  In the book it give more of the view that Phylis was more of a bad women.  She goes and tries to get with her daughters boyfriend and then lets him off after she is going to go and be with Huff.  Then when she goes off with Huff and goes on the ship and talks him into jumping and dying with her in the icy water with shark as they feel the moon.  In the movie she seems like she isn't as bad as the book.  She doesn't really try to double cross Huff and she gets shot instead of them dying together.  With the movie it feels like their was justice but in the book their was but not in the traditional sense

The Man Down The Street

So in some stories everything also goes well and just everything goes according to plan. He was pulling the body out from the back of the car and Susan was still a little scared.  No one is expecting them to get away with it even though they are the law.
Some weeks ago there was a case that was given to Phil Banks and Susan Flex.  This man, Tony, was suspect in many murders.  He was very smart about the way that he did it because he would never leave a murder weapon or leave any prints on any of the bodies.  So where do they go from here?  They cant seem to find him in the act or even to catch him doing anything wrong.  They would tale him but they never would see anything.  Phil decides that he is going to send Susan in there to get some info to go undercover.  He lights his cigarette and sits down on the chair in his office.  He calls in Susan to talk to her.  She comes in and says that she is going to do it.  Susan is in the police department but she has a little bit of a dark side to her.  Makes her just a little sexy but makes it really hard to trust her.  She goes into Jon's Bar and sits down two rows down from Tony.  He stares at her because he sees that she is a very intriguing looking woman.  She can't act or look like a cop so she needs to have a little bit of the danger to win his trust.  She starts to drink a little but not a lot.  Tony comes over to her and asked her to come with him to another party.  She says that she will go with him but Phil is following them from a distance.  Tony sees that he is being followed by someone and looks and assumes that she is having someone follow him.  She is scared that she is going to be killed or that they are going to lose this case.  They meet him at the end of road and he parks a ways down but Tony is still worried.  Tony looks at Susan and says I need you to go and kill that guy that is following us.  If you don't then I cant trust you and you are going to be killed with your friend.  She goes up to the car and she is shaking and Phil looks at her and says what is going on.  The next thing that you hear is a gun shot.  Phil fails to the floor and Susan doesn't even shed a tear.  They put the body in the car and drive off.  She gets out of the car and he was pulling the body out from the back of the car and Susan is still a little scared.  She doesn't think that she is going to get away with it even though she is the law.

Old School Way Of Life

This book called, "Double Indemnity" by James M. Cain, is a great book so far.  I see how it is going to be a very good example of Film Noir.  Mr. Huff is the main character who plays as a insurance agent who is selling insurance to Mr. Nirdlinger.  In the beginning of the story he is in Hollywoodland because he is going to sell this guy a renewal of his insurance.  When he gets to the house all I can think is that it is at night and a little cloudy and gloomy.  He says, "I came to this House of Death."  It seems that the house looks really dark but as he goes on to further explain it, "it looks like a normal Spanish house with white walls."  The setting of the story is kind of dark and creepy.
Mr. Huff goes to the door and the maid answers and makes it really hard for him to talk to Mr. Nirdlinger.  When he goes in to talk to him he goes to talk to his wife, she is teasing him with the idea of selling but holding back enough to make him want to keep on trying.  He goes back the next day because Mrs. Nirdlinger invited him to come over around 7 pm after dinner.  She calls him later in the day tells him to come around 230 pm. When he gets there she has on a tight dress and looks dressed up.  Her maid is gone and is trying to get into his pants.  They kissed.  It gives the feeling of him being the smooth talking guy that is messing around with other women.  He is a insurance guy who dressed with a hat and is a smooth talking guy who can woow all of the girls.
Later on they start to talk about how they like each other and Mr. Huff tells Mrs. Nirdlinger that he knows she is planning on talking out a life insurance policy on her husband and then killing him.  Not only does he tell her that he knows but he also wants to help her pull it off.  They are planning on running away together with the $50,000 that they will get when they kill him on the train.  I wonder how after he is dead how it all turns out for them.
I find it kind of cool that they are all having affairs but they let you figure it out.  No one is just taking clothes off and trying to be super slutty but they are leaving everything to the imagination.  The old ways of doing things is just so different then now.  It is funny that she didn't want to just divorce him but why not just kill him right?

Just The Tip

We see that in this type of movie genre, "Noer" is not really a popular type of movie to go and see.  We were starting to watch this type of movie in class but we didnt get to finish it.  I see how people might not like but at the same time how can't you.  It is a story about a detective who is a morally grey character who is willing to do whatever it takes to get what ever he wants. He is willing to fight above the law to get answers.  When every little boy was little they would play cops and robbers.  You would do anything to win if you are the cop, these types of movies are the same thing.
We see that people don't like these movies but film directors love them and this might be the only reason why they havent gone out of business.  Some of the more famous directors have but a more modern spine of it such as Quitien Tarenteno.  These types of movies are a great hero movie where the hero does have flaws.
